In the ancient rainforest of Nyungwe Forest, you will hike across various trails to discover stunning waterfalls, and encounter endemic birds, primates, plant and forest beauty. The hike will bring you onto an elevated canopy walk which will offer you incredible views of this vast montane forest.

Detailed Itinerary
Safari Day One: Transfer to near Nyungwe Forest
The 4 Days Rwanda Adventure – Nyungwe Forest Hiking, Nyanza King’s Palace and Lake Kivu Safari begins with your guide meeting you at your hotel or residence within Kigali City. After a short brief on your upcoming adventure safari, you will drive south-west of Kigali City to Nyanza where you will visit the King’s Palace.
Here the local guide will take you on a tour to see the replica of the ancient King’s Palace, meet the beautiful Inyambo cows and visit the museum to see the artifacts. Time allowing, extend the tour with a hike along one of the cultural trails (3-4hrs long) to learn more of this ancient rwanda kingdom and enjoy the panoramic views of Nyanza. After a hot lunch drive on to your accomodation set on the edges of Nyungwe forest

Day Two: Activities in Nyungwe
With an early start this morning, you will check in at Nyungwe Forest park reception where you will meet up with park guides to begin the trek. After a short briefing, you will be led onto a hike across the forest where you will enjoy the tranquility of nature, spot some primates and birds and scenic waterfalls. The hike will end onto a elevated Canopy Walk that will offer you panoramic views across the forest canopies and distant views. Activity duration will vary with the trail but 4-6hrs is normal.
After the hike transfer to Karongi north of Nyungwe Forest

Day Three: Adventure day at Lake Kivu
This morning after a lazy breakfast, you will meet up you kayak guide who lead you onto exploration of Lake Kivu with its scenic shores and islands. On the kayak expereince, you will have rests on various islands to appreciate fishing communities, excellent birdlife, primates and to soak in the beautiful views of the towering highlands
Additional adventure to choose from include hiking and cycling along a section of Congo-Nil hiking trail that runs along the lake shores, revealing distant tea farms, towering highlands and distant islands that doteLake Kivu. Combine this scenic hike with a visit to coffee expereince on a visit to one local farm and learn of all the process right from the farm, to the drying and to traditional roasting and finally brewing your own cup!
Day Four: transfer to Kigali
This morning after breakfast, we will transfer to Kigali, arriving in time for lunch. Alternatively this morning you can choose to undertake one more adventure before a transfer to Kigali. After a lunch break in Kigali, you will take a short city tour visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn of Rwanda’s past history and extend with a visit to Kimironko Market a beehive activity market full of colors and life. Take a stroll on city streets to feel the youthfulness and friendliness of local population and finally dine to taste some of local cuisines.
